Handmade Toy Lobster With His Striped T Shirt
£60.00
Crafted from differing shades of cotton and linen, this lobster is completely handmade in my studio on the Isle of Wight. I know that makes him English but as you can clearly see, he prefers to think of himself as French. He will only wear striped t shirts and insists on keeping his moustache the perfect moustache twirling length (He trims it with his claws of course).
He’ll make the perfect gift for any lobster loving child or adult (is there anyone that doesn’t love a lobster with a moustache?). And because you know exactly where he’s made you can give a gift knowing it’s sustainable and long lasting. We’re talking heirlooms here, not landfill.
Whether you’re looking for a gift for your own child, or a grandchild or friends child or nephew or a niece, or for your partner (the perfect Valentines gift!), you can give this one knowing that you’re giving a gift that won’t need to be tidied away at the end of the day. This is a gift of the most stylish lobster around, and he’ll bring a playfulness and joy to any corner of a home. He’s made to be played with, but he’s also made to look good on the back of that sofa!
My inspiration for all my creatures comes from my own childhood obsessions with nature and birds, The Famous Five and the wild Dungeness coastline. And in recent years by the incredible island I now call home.
I make creatures that will evoke childhood memories for grown up children, and create childhood memories for the children of today.
Need To Know:
The Lobster is made from a patchwork of different linens, cottons and corduroys. The combination may be slightly different to the image here, but they all have a similar look and feel.
His eyes are embroidered and hand sewn on.
His moustache is black wool felt and is hand sewn on.
He has no hard parts.
He is stuffed with hypoallergenic stuffing but please note that his moustache is wool and therefore not hypoallergenic.
His t shirt is made from cotton jersey and is not removable (apparently because of his huge muscles).
When stretched out he measure approximately 57cm. He’s no shrimp!
Because he is made of a patchwork of fabrics it’s best to only spot wash him, he may nip if you try and put him in the washing machine.
